Get involved. There is a lot going on in the world around us. Take that extra time you have this month and sign a petition, share a social media post that matters, or make a donation to a cause that speaks to you. It’s hot outside, so there’s no better time to send a few emails or call your elected officials. Voice your concerns, or leave a comment. Now is the time.
Visit a virtual art or music exhibit. The GRAMMY Museum in Los Angeles is offering a new at-home exhibit every Friday here. Recent featured topics include Stevie Ray Vaughn, the Monterey International Pop Festival and the British Invasion.
In the art world, The Metropolitan Museum of Art has online galleries for you to peruse here.
Support your local eateries. What’s better to do this month than eat good food at home while staying cool watching movies? Nothing, in my humble opinion. Support your local eateries and order food for takeout, then curl up on the couch and watch a new television series or movie with your loved ones.
Try something new. I’m thinking a new cuisine or a new activity. Something you’ve truly never tried before or done before. Pick a cuisine you’ve never tried and take the plunge. There’s no time like the present.
Try a new recipe. Need ideas? I’m making this veggie stir fry from the Pioneer Woman tonight for dinner with chicken breast and noodles. I used to make stir fries a lot, and my parents made them frequently when I was a child, but it’s been a while since I’ve made one, so this will be fun. Need more recipe ideas to try this month? How about these?
What are you looking forward to doing this month? Las Vegas is so hot that all I can think of is staying indoors, but I’d love to hear your thoughts on making the most out of July.
